Pope Francis Dies

Pope Francis died at the age of 88 of a stroke and irreversible heart failure, the Vatican announced yesterday. The Argentine-orn pontiff had returned to work following a battle with double pneumonia and related health complications in late March after a five-week hospital stay. He made his last public appearance at St. Peter’s Basilica on Easter Sunday, offering a final blessing for the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics.

 

프란치스코 교황이 뇌졸중과 돌이킬 수 없는 심부전으로 88세의 나이로 사망했다고 바티칸이 어제 발표했습니다. 아르헨티나 태생의 교황은 지난 3월 말 이중 폐렴 및 관련 건강 합병증으로 투병하다 5주간의 병원 입원 끝에 업무에 복귀했습니다. 교황은 부활주일에 성 베드로 대성당에서 전 세계 13억 가톨릭 신자들을 위한 마지막 축도를 집전하며 마지막으로 공개 석상에 모습을 드러냈습니다.
